Well, let's see, Hmmm, it depends.... I ussually always start with the head. I like building the head of a new Mech, because at that point I know what "personallity" the Mech will have, then I start on the Hands. Once the Head and the hands are (...) (...) From what I've noticed of mecha design, most mecha have short thighs and long lower legs, terminating in rather large feet. (...) Typically, I spend almost as much time on the head as on the rest of the mech. But then there's the hip area. If I don't succeed with that, then the mech never comes to be. I completely agree with you Chris. For so long I've been pondering this question as well, and could not find an answer. Now I finally realize that for me it is the torse that is the hardest part of a mecha to build. Here are 3 reasons: 1) It is the (...) (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Legs...most definately the legs. I can visualize and create the head just fine, and the arms are usually the most intricate part I make, so take the longest. I have a quick survey: While building a mech, what is the hardest part for you to make? I always have tons of trouble making the head look decent and properly proportioned with the rest of the body. Ya What Mecha needs thumbs when it's primary job is to Shredd, Juilian, coleslaw or french fry mini figs! Yes handy. The fingers open up like a Swiss Army knife. Thanks Brian! I already did the green, grey, and dark grey colour scheme with my "Goblin" and "Chieftain" mecha. Military paint schemes get old quick. I wanted to try something different. That is correct, but weren't tanks also used in desert warfare, a la Africa during WWII (ex. Tubruk (sp?)) and U.S.S.R. (ex. Kirsk), and during Operation Desert Storm, as well. ASMs can still fight in urban settings, it's just that they were made (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Well, if this thing going to replace tanks, it's going to have be deployed in the same environments as tanks :) Glad you like the Scimitar. The models are both very nicely done! I like the use of tranparent bricks and slopes on the cockpit of the P38. It gives the impression of a multi-faceted front, just like the real cockpit. Yes, more wing stuff to follow, I'm very pleased with the way this new one is comming out. I'll have to send it on a covert mission during the 12 days of Christmas to hi-jack some parts from you, I'll have to program evasive manuvers to avoid MAP (...)
