That is correct, but weren't tanks also used in desert warfare, a la Africa
during WWII (ex. Tubruk (sp?)) and U.S.S.R. (ex. Kirsk), and during Operation
Desert Storm, as well.
ASMs can still fight in urban settings, it's just that they were made for more
wide open spaces. Anyways, in my future world, most battles are fought on
battle plain, or other non-civilian locations. Terrorists and other
lunatics only fight in cities.
