  Re: New 2002 Belville Sets

(...) Also, there is either a new spoon element or a hairbrush in white in the set. I'm leaning towards it being a spoon. :) *starts planning on making a Lena minifig from Chrono Cross...* :) (...) I'm pretty sure this is "turquoise", rather than (...) (23 years ago, 11-Feb-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.belville)

  Re: New 2002 Belville Sets

(...) Vanilla, prince, one more male figure I believe that the figure that comes with this set is Elvira, not Vanilla. Princess Vanilla has brown eyes and parted lips (teeth show). Elvira is the one with blue eyes and wears blue. Looks like three of (...) (23 years ago, 11-Feb-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.belville)

  Re: New 2002 Belville Sets

(...) I guess it's meant to simulate ice, since the princess is skating about. Imagine 4 of these quarter circle base bricks with a light source below. (...) Fetch Frosty, fetch. Go get the stick. (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.belville)

  Re: New 2002 Belville Sets

(...) :-) Yes, a trans blue base brick would be super cool. That would definitely be close to the biggest transparent piece (the large quarter domes are still larger though). (...) Another minus about it is that it is all rounded and such which (...) (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.belville)

  Re: New 2002 Belville Sets

(...) You don't have to be so diplomatic, because it's obvious that I'm confused here. :D Yes, I'm thinking about that. I'll go back and look at it again--a trans-medblue brick would be really neat. (...) Ack. I'm not sure I like it anymore. I (...) (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.belville)

  Re: New 2002 Belville Sets

(...) Umm, someone's confused here. Pete and I have been discussing the 12x12 quarter circle base brick in 5850. I seriously doubt they've changed to a plate. Perhaps you're thinking about the 8x8 plate in 5838. (...) It's somewhat larger than the (...) (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.belville)

  Re: Origin of "Belville" Name?

(...) ...origin of the Belville name? (...) Sensible? bah! ya no fun! :P (...) <chop chop> Well... going from what I wrote above... I think I agree with you :P Mel :) (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.belville)

  Re: Origin of "Belville" Name?

(...) here's my take....and probably most sensible... :) most likely taken from french... meaning beautiful city belle ville ville is feminine in the french language, and beau = verb is belle with feminine objects... French Language 101... :) (...) (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.belville)

  Re: Origin of "Belville" Name?

(...) Hmm Belair? :p j/k... well bel = Ten decibels. Ville = village hahaha one loud village? maybe in colour! Belle (french) = beautiful or an attractive girl/woman. Latin - bella, feminine of bellus I dunno it kinda makes sense when you put the (...) (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.belville)

  Re: New 2002 Belville Sets

(...) Not as menacing as a Duplo polar bear ;^) (...) That was my first thought. It's always hard working out the colours from box artwork, especially the size of the images on lego.com. (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.belville)

  Re: New 2002 Belville Sets

(...) It definitely looks like a plate. Given that the mold is new, I wouldn't be surprised if they're getting mileage out of it. That polar bear in the big set looks nice and menacing for minifigs, too. (...) That looks to me like the new medium (...) (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.belville)

  Re: New 2002 Belville Sets

(...) Take 4 of them and use them in the middle of 4 (24 x 24 w 1/4 circle cutout) green base bricks from 5987, or that's what I'm planning. (...) Must say I wasn't expecting orange base bricks in Belville, but Arctic did use many orange elements (...) (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.belville)

  Re: New 2002 Belville Sets

(...) You might be right, it does match the color of the 6x6 roof which is definitely trans blue (I'm guessing this is actually the new trans blue that Belville has which is a little darker than trans light blue). If so, it would be really cool, and (...) (23 years ago, 9-Feb-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.belville)

  Origin of "Belville" Name?

Is there any kind of official or rumored explanation as to the origin of the Belville name? This question occurred to me recently when I was looking through one of my M.C. Escher books for building ideas and (as I've done many times before) was (...) (23 years ago, 1-Feb-02, to lugnet.belville)

Re: Hello New Sets! (was Re: Bye Bye Belville)

(...) They are in ascending size(value) order, so 5836 is small and 5850 is on the way to 5808. With last year's selection it did look like the theme was scratching for ideas and on the wane. A range of 6 different sized sets does hold hope for (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.belville)
