well bel = Ten decibels.
Ville = village hahaha one loud village? maybe in colour!
Belle (french) = beautiful or an attractive girl/woman.
Latin - bella, feminine of bellus
I dunno it kinda makes sense when you put the Belle and the Ville together,
just like Lego with their name.
Belleville sounds a bit too much.... belville sounds a little better?

| (...) here's my take....and probably most sensible... :) most likely taken from french... meaning beautiful city belle ville ville is feminine in the french language, and beau = verb is belle with feminine objects... French Language 101... :) (...) (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.belville)
