Macintosh Ldraw part files. —Ben Vaughan
I just uploaded three parts files for the Macintosh. These are just the ldraw parts taken from a PC and repackaged with Stuffit. I've got them in 3 flavors: binhex (hqx), stuffit (sit), and as a self extracting archive (sea). After decompressing (...) (24 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad)

Hi Ben. I tried downloading the stuff for Mac Ldraw, and I could never get anything to work. If you have gotten it to work on Mac, could you email me and give me a hand? Thanks, ~Mark (24 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Sounds like what you need is a dedicated group/list for LDMC...where you could talk openly about issues specific to Mac/LDMC/etc. without having to feel the need to ask for email help.       (...) Todd, Seems like lugnet.cad.mac would be best as it would allow for some general discussion re: lcad on the mac rather than only specific areas. Further discussion? Anyone? Ben Ben Vaughan buster@marsbase.com (URL) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Macintosh Ldraw part files. —Erik Olson

Re: Macintosh Ldraw part files. —Steve Bliss
(...) Can Mac's typically extract from other archive formats, such as ZIP? How about ZIPs packaged as (PC)self-extracting files?         Re: Macintosh Ldraw part files. —Ben Vaughan
(...) Steve, Yes, Macs (Stuffit actually) can extract zip files, but I don't think they can deal with self extracting zips as they are packaged as an executable for Windows machines. As for ARJ vs. ZIP, I don't really have much of an opinion on that (...) (24 years ago, 23-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Macintosh Ldraw part files. —Erik Olson
Stuffit Expander does the right thing with the self-extracting zips too. (at least I have seen it work more than once!) I don't have the full Stuffit package. It's an amazing little program. (it's also down with .gz and tar and who knows what else.) (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad)
