Re: WWII mini-figs and indiana jones

(...) It's a British magazine, and is not online or free. According to loc.uk, you're not dreaming about the unused set pictures. If I remember the post right, they tried the idea, scrapped it, tried it again, scrapped it, and finally made a series (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.town)

Re: WWII mini-figs and indiana jones

(...) I think you probably read about the Technic line introduced in the mid/late 80s called "Arctic Action." Check the set database.. Greg "You! Bench!" Majewski (URL) (24 years ago, 7-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.town)

  Re: Velociraptor

I think they should've made the dinosaurs with more interchangeable parts so that you could switch heads, lengthen necks, etc. Then you could've adapted your way to whatever dinosaur you wanted. (to some degree I think that's what they do in real (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: WWII mini-figs and indiana jones

I didn't know that. Where did you find the Adventuers! magazine? Is it an online magazine? Free? Is there pictures of unused Arctic ideas (okay, now I'm just dreaming)? I find it very unusual that the new Adventurers is possibly older thn Jurassic (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.town)

Re: WWII mini-figs and indiana jones

(...) I know that the Egyptian Desert subtheme almost coincided with The Mummy. But it is almost certainly a coincidence. The development of a new theme takes much longer than making an movie. In the May issue of the Adventures! magazine there is an (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.town)

  Re: Velociraptor

Yes, the dome-headed dinosaur is a Pachycephalosaurus. Your idea for a Lego adaptation of the novel is great. (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: new sub-theme

(...) Actually, they did that. Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops and Pteranodon lived in the Cretaceous period, about 70-65 million years ago. But the Stegosaurus is a Jurassic dinosaur, from about 150 million years ago. GOOFY BUILDING IDEA: Stick one of (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Satellite dish in 5987

(...) Hmm. Maybe take a bat-kabob from Fright Knights, and park it in front of the dish to make a Bat-signal? Steve (24 years ago, 6-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Satellite dish in 5987

(...) their (...) The catalog says "use the reflector and antenna to receive and transmit data. I figured it was just some radio dish. But it could also double as one of those huge search lights so that at night they could point the beam in the sky (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Satellite dish in 5987

The Adventurers theme would work in modern times too. Mabey they blew all their money to get satilite TV ?!? The bad guys? That anphibian had to cost a pretty penny!!! <><><><><><><><><><><>NICK (L^;| (amazing, I got a haircut, no one will call me a (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  new sub-theme

I know it is a little early to be thinking about a new sub-theme but when I saw this post: Especially when the fiction is one of a lost island rather than time travel. If something can survive hidden an extra 65 million years then why not an extra (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) T'would be wonderful! I could really use a long necked 80 foot tall herbivore as well as those things with the big heads... what are they called?.. Pachycephalosaurs? I'm already planning an Isla Sonora with Levine and friends! The High Hide (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

This setup gives TLC the freedom to pick and choose prehistoric (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) Well, yeah, isn't that the irony of this whole thing? (...) Ooo, good point. But I think the TLC T-Rex is a compromise, all the way around. Not that I've stayed up late nights comparing the mini-T with scientific evidence. Actually, the (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) Well, yeah, but since the theme is "living" dinosaurs, aren't we already engaging in a little fiction? Besides which, prevailing wisdom at the time of the Adventurers' adventures had the T-Rex as a completely upright, tail- dragging, (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Velociraptor

Velociraptor was discovered on the Andrews Central Asiatic Expedition in the 1920s, which is during the Adventurers time period. In fact, it is likely they were on this expedition. A bigger raptor closer ot the one in Jurassic Park, Deinonychus, was (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jul-00, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Hitler minifig (Adventurers)

To All, This thread is drifting way off from LEGO directed questions and posts and the like. Please direct all further ramblings about Germans and the like to off-topic.debate or off.topic.fun.
