I didn't know that.  Where did you find the Adventuers! magazine?  Is it an
online magazine?  Free?  Is there pictures of unused Arctic ideas (okay, now
I'm just dreaming)?  I find it very unusual that the new Adventurers is
possibly older thn Jurassic Park (or the Lost World Jurassic Park, anyway), and
I wonder why nobody has reported any rumours regarding the 2013 series.

Mimicking Indiana Jones and making WWII mini-figs out of adventurers is an
awesome idea! I bet that TLG based the theme on Indiana Jones and won't • admit
it.
I disagree, I think that they were mooching off the potential sucess of the
movie The Mummy that I believe was released in 1998.  Have you seen it?  Very
Adventurerish throughout. Great movie. I've seen Indiana Jones and the Temple
of Doom too, and it is not as Adventurerish. I'm not entirely sure about the
1999 line, though I see a lot of things from The Lost World: Jurassic Park in
the new sets.  Is it any coincidence that we get competing hunter and
researcher teams, the concept of loading a T.rex onto a boat for transport
back to the city, the concept of taking the Baby T. rex, a research shack • that
looks kinda like the building where the raptors attacked, etc?
I know that the Egyptian Desert subtheme almost coincided with The Mummy.
But it is almost certainly a coincidence. The development of a new theme takes
much longer than making an movie. In the May issue of the Adventures! magazine
there is an article how the Arctic subtheme was created. The design started
in 1987. That is thirteen years! Making Adventurers must be something similar
as both introduces new pieces and colors.

(...) It's a British magazine, and is not online or free. According to loc.uk, you're not dreaming about the unused set pictures.
