Why can the highlight state olny get brighter?  I'd like to be able to vote to
unhighlight.  That gives the majority of those that have an opinion to have
things the way they want.

Respectfully,

This is possible.  At least to me it is.  The drop down highlight menu offers
three options: "highlight" "spotlight" and "---" - if you want to un-highlight,
change your selection from "highlight" to "---" and hit submit.

Works for me.

I think what he means is to 'lowlight' a post. Like, if you not only think it
shouldn't be hightlighted by yourself, it shouldn't be highlighted by some
others either.

Exactly how I'm reading it as well, Suz. There are many times I've seen
something spotlighted and thought to myself, 'Why in the world would anyone
spotlight this? I wish I could cancel out their vote.' Then I realize just how
open to abusive this feature could be and stop thinking about it!

For now, I just trust my fellow LUGNETters to highlight great MOCs and to leave
it at that.
