  Re: LUGNET members association

(...) Sorry, that was rhetoric. LUGNET is not infinite so there never has been an "endless" one. But there have been lots of interminable ones, don't you agree? (...) For a "made up" example The decision would be "person A gets a timeout of 48 hours (...) (21 years ago, 22-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: LUGNET members association

(...) I think we are getting to the crux here, but I will go back over the rest of the post later, and see if there's anything I think warrants further examination. (...) Please point me to an endless debate. (...) Of course. (...) OK, I'm not (...) (21 years ago, 22-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: LUGNET members association

(...) I was referring to the whole thing. What specifically do you disagree with? This is an important point that bears repeating: " endless debate (about specific reviewing actions) has proven (in many many other places, not just here) not to be (...)   Re: LUGNET members association

(...) I'm not sure exactly which part you're referring to so I'll just look at the last paragraph. I agree debate is not going to change the initial decision, but it CAN point out fallacies in the decision process that could lead ANOTHER decision (...)   Re: LUGNET members association

(...) Let's clarify what's meant when that sort of thing is said. (and what was omitted when it was said) This is, at some level, a governance question (governance in the general sense of "how things are organised") It's important to distinguish (...)   Re: LUGNET members association

To Lenny, Ross, and others: I may have hastily threw the idea out there, but picture it being more like an orgization similar to ILTCO. ILTCO is comprised of many LTCs and is one voice for them all when dealing with TLC... "Leonard Hoffman" (...) (21 years ago, 22-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: LUGNET members association

(...) I too see this as unnecessary - there is still no requirement for the administration to act on any recommendations of the LMA, in effect they can say, as they have already done several times now, "We have made the decision and will not respond (...)   Re: LUGNET members association

(...) I'm not sure how this would operate differently than what we have now. Members can all make suggestions to the admin.suggestions, and the Admins read them all. Right now implementation of suggestions is a bit difficult due to needed code (...) (21 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: LUGNET members association

  LUGNET members association

I move to form a new organization (not led by myself), that consists of members (if you aren't a member of LUGNET, what's the holdup?) of the LUGNET community. The association would govern the majority of the members needs, desires, problems, (...) (21 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions) !

  Re: Sugestions

You have an excellent point there. The off topic groups are an elegant solution to threads that wander away from Lego. What I find disappointing are threads that begin and end in .debate like this recent one: (URL)* And the fact that .debate alone (...)   Sugestions

Well after reading some of last nights highlights I felt I just had to post something. Kevin Clague’s witty post has forced me to at least say something about the condition here on Lugnet. The truth is that these issues are destroying us. Imho the (...) (21 years ago, 20-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: I resign from the LPRV committee

(...) Hmm, some good thoughts. Can we move this discussion to lugnet.admin.suggestions, and could someone start a new thread there, capturing the discussion so far? Frank FUT: lugnet.admin.suggestions (21 years ago, 18-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Fwd: Request to streamline membership process

Hello, I recieved this email and I am posting it as I have been asked: Eric, Thanks for saying what you did here: (URL) One would think that Lugnet is about whining and bitching instead of about LEGO! Since you're a member, could you please ask (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

How to Spotlight (was: I resign from the LPRV committe)e

(...) How's about this: Instead of a 10 item list of spotlighted threads, why not two 5 (or however many) item lists? One of spotlighted MOCs, and the other spotlighted non-MOC topics. Shouldn't be too hard to code, and seems to solve the problem (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Request to move .mecha

(...) Email also prevents miscommunication. It provides tangible proof that you've attempted to contact the admins without it appearing that there is a problem. As far as I can see, there is no problem, hence the need for a less inflamatory post (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Request to move .mecha

(...) Email goes unseen and hides inaction. I also should be able to ask hard questions without an agenda or some sort of desire to start trouble. I resent your insinuation that I am trying to start a flame war that is ridiculous. I'll simply wait (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)
