James Jessiman was an AFOL who worked on a program for drawing lego pieces
etc..and to make instructions out of them. The result of his work is found
at http://www.ldraw.org , a commonly used program for rendering lego creations.

Sadly, James died a few years ago at a young age. As a way of remembering
and saying thanks, the LDRAW homepage has a memorial for James and for the
work that he began.

Simon has put a link on his own page (see the original link) with the words
"James Jessiman is Dead...deal with it NOW". Despite that it links to the
memorial page, its a rather tactless way of doing it.

No, no, NO!  It DOESN'T link to the memorial page, it links to the
image archive of cheap Inet statuary.  I have no problems with the
memorial page, in fact I think it's really good.  What I'm against is
the cheapening of his death and the ideal to turn him into a demigod
of the Lego community.  In fact, if the image archive is taken off,
I'll take the link button off my site.  The memorial has NOTHING to do
with this at all.

Todd,

Is there anything we can do about this clown? It's one thing to have a
personality that nobody else seems to like, but trying to fake someone elses
name in a NG is downright irritating to the extreme. TOSs him out again...

I've been lying low and keeping quite, in fear of ID theft and for sheer
stupidity of this thread, but I must chime in.
From what I've observed, Todd has been A) ignoring this to see if it will
go away, or B) Posting and canceling, presumably trying to find the right words.
A is probobly a smart choice, considering this dolt has already stated
and shown that he has ways around the TOS.  But, however smart it is, this
choice isn't really appealing, for the sheer fact that this community can
only take outrageous and malignant insults soooo far...
I appeal to you, Todd, Please help us.

Must close for now,

P.S. I, for one, hope that this stops just for Jaco's sake and that of the
others that have had their IDs stolen.

(...) Actually B is an incorrect observation. Matthew took Todd's name and posted in his name. Todd then cancelled the post through the server. -Shiri (23 years ago, 25-May-01, to lugnet.admin.general)
