I agree with some of the philosophies about needing a place for off-topic
things to spill, and needing a seperate place for them, etc, but I have to
admit that I'm starting to wonder if there might not be a need to somehow
restrict the posting to the group to ensure that is what the group is being
used for. I haven't been following off-topic.debate lately- my recent posts in
the "Polyamory" thread were the first ones in a while, and frankly did a lot to
remind me why I quit reading the group in the first place- but it seems to me
that there must be a way to restructure the ToS for the group such that the
ridiculously off-topic and neverending threads about religion, etc could be
blocked or just plain not welcome. This isn't just spillage out of a thread
somewhere else on Lugnet we're talking about, here.
