  Re: problems posting via email

(...) It may be related to an error I was receiving when posting by e-mail. I posted the following message and Todd replied to the effect that he was aware of the problem and working on it. See this message: (URL) Lynch (25 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  problems posting via email

Has anyone else been having a problem with posting to LUGNet via email? For the past several days now, I have been unable to post messages via email (i.e., by sending an email message to [newsgroup-name]@lugnet.com; e.g., (...) (25 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.general)

  Re: Server freakage today

(...) True, but that is mainly because if no 'dev' file exists the webserver assumes you meant 'dev/'. It's similar to that when you're typing www.abcd.com[1] it is assumed you mean (URL) even though ftp://www.abcd.com/ would be a correct URL too (...)   Lugnet Memberships turn One

A little bit of digging shows that LUGNET Memberships were launched one year ago, and as of last count 664 people have chosen to formally show their support. How has this fared with your expectations, Todd? Is it time for us to dig a little deaper (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-00, to lugnet.people, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.general) !!

  Error in hash database?

Todd, I tried to post using e-mail twice this morning, but the messages never arrived at Lugnet, nor did I get an error message from Lugnet. (...) No -- the load from something like that would still be very low relative to something like this. Something like this is either a very sneaky DoS attack or the server stepping on its own feet due to an internal bug. I highly suspect the latter. (...)   Lugnet having intermittent problems?

  Server freakage today

Twice today in the past two hours, the load average on the lugnet.com server has shot up to extremly high levels. Normal activity is between 0.5 and 2.0 or so during the day.
