  Re: Duplicate Posts?

(...) Sorry. Probably not. I was trying to make a light joke on something I'd noticed but I realise it probably wasn't the best place nor the best person to direct it at. Tim (18 years ago, 5-Jan-07, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  Re: Duplicate Posts?

  Duplicate Posts?

I clearly remember only replying once to this post, now I see two replies. ??? (URL) (18 years ago, 4-Jan-07, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: New lego history newsgroup?

(...) Moin Kevin, that's a nice idea. Where should we place such a group in the group hierarchy? It would be nice too, if we could find a curator who takes the time to pick the key posts from the past from .general and makes an overview or a type of (...)   New lego history newsgroup?

I think that this has been requested before, but could there be a Lego history group? From time to time (like now) .general gets rather overwhelmed with history posts and not everyone is interested in every last tiny detail :-) It would also be a (...) Email headed your way (with headers) - please let me know if there's something besides LUGNET that is causing this, because if there is, I'd really like to (...)   Re: LUGNET is not sending out message authentication posts.

(...) Could you forward me one of those auth messages (including headers)? I want to see if it was sent late or recieved late :) Especially since you say the messages are visible in the multiauth page, they would show up there only AFTER the email (...) "Dan Boger" <dan@peeron.com> wrote in message news:20061223155405....ron.com... (...) Well, it turns out that they are being generated quite late. Because I eventually received the authentication messages. Although, I have to say these were nearly (...) (18 years ago, 23-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: LUGNET is not sending out message authentication posts.

(...) Are you 100% sure that the emails aren't being blocked by something on your end? I post via email (though not that often, I know), and I haven't seen this problem? (18 years ago, 23-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

LUGNET is not sending out message authentication posts.

Occasionally, this happens - I've no idea why though Could Rene or Gerry please look into this ASAP and find out what is causing an authentication message to not get sent out? I find that using the "multiauth" link in a previous post will usually (...) (18 years ago, 23-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Password reset request for Ralph Hempel

Hi folks, With the new excitement around the NXT, and my increasing business travel, I would really like it if I could get my account set up so that I can post via the web interface. I was a fairly early member of Lugnet, and have been posting via (...) (18 years ago, 16-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: A Question about Posting Behavior

(...) The only semi-tricky part would be to identify the 'XXX said' line - though, it's a safe assumption that if the line before a quoted region has exactly one sentance and ends with a ':', it's part of the quote. Probably miss a bunch of edge (...) (18 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: A Question about Posting Behavior

(...) Well, there's a little more to it, actually. Basically, you need the code to figure out what's what. Since LUGNET was designed to work with SMTP and NNTP, the exact string "In lugnet.xxx.yyy, ZZZ wrote:" won't be consistant. Right now, the (...)   Re: A Question about Posting Behavior

(...) Of course the "XXX said" could be kept the same but colour coded with the daughter colour. Tim (18 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: A Question about Posting Behavior

(...) Okay, I can understand that, but at least couldn't the colors match up without any loss in accuracy? JOHN (18 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: A Question about Posting Behavior

(...) Well, the reason is because "Sensible Person" didn't actually write the text "In lugnet.admin.general, Sensible Party wrote:", so it's not really something that they said. I believe it's the standard for old text email quotings and newsgroup (...) (18 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  A Question about Posting Behavior

I have had this question in my mind since Todd initiated the color-coding for responses in a thread: when someone replies to a post, why doesn't the number of arrows correspond to the text of the poster? For example, if someone named Sensible Party (...) (18 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Questions about the setup for mail-to-news on lugnet.com

This is still an ongoing issue for LUGNET and people who have to occasionally post to the lugnet.robotics hierarchy. However, some interesting questions about the gateway arise.   Re: Strange FTX behaviour

(...) Yup, that was it. Upgrade to the new version (0.8), it's fixed there. Oddity - for some reason my FF wasn't able to detect there's a new version when I did "find updates". If that happens to you too, let me know! As a workaround, I had to (...) (18 years ago, 4-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)
