  Re: LUGNET members association

(...) I'm not sure how this would operate differently than what we have now. Members can all make suggestions to the admin.suggestions, and the Admins read them all. Right now implementation of suggestions is a bit difficult due to needed code (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Legends of Todd

(...) Isn't it possible for people to discuss something even if it is currently being implemented? Or is it the point that something should be submitted to the community before implementation just for the sake of it? In which case, does the (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: LUGNET members association

Re: Another resignation: I'm stepping down.

(...) I would say that I was never "out of control" - especially since just about everything I've done, I've had the support of the other Admins. But then, we're getting into the semantics of "out of control." (...) My message was due to (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  Re: Legends of Todd

(...) I posted this already but this is not the impression that I got from the announcement post or various other conversions with those involved. The impression I got was that the committee was going to generate the P&P and then it would be (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: P&P document

(...) Thans for the cancel Kelly. (...) I was in a rush because I had to catch a plane very early this morning. I used your work address kelly@anagraphyxx.com. I realized I had made a bad choice, this the request for cancel. I'm sorry if you didn't (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: P&P document

(...) Hello Kevin, I didn't seem to receive that email, I'll check my settings to make sure it didn't get routed inappropriately. I've just cancelled the post per request. For my records, which email address did you send it to? kelly@anagrafyxx.com (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: I resign from the LPRV committee

(...) I don't know about all of this. People keep talking about transparency and how great it all is, but exactly what do you want to see? Do you want the Admin emails to be public? Do you want to see every draft of public pronouncements? To use the (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  Re: P&P document

(...) This morning I sent you an email asking you to cancel my post where I made the P&P visible. I'll ask again to please cancel my post. Kevin (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Legends of Todd

(...) An excellent post, Dave. A few things I want to touch on - the Admins' basic idea of how the P&P process would work is essentially what you described here. We write it, work on it. Share it with a few people and get their input, get the (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: I resign from the LPRV committee

You mentioned the efficiency of a tiered review process as a reason for not making everything about lugnet administration public. I don't buy that. I submit that efficency is irrelavent to the problem at hand and I beleive that recent events clearly (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: I resign from the LPRV committee

(...) LUGNET historians might remember the flurry of posts about CP and cp--community policing. It was all in the open and we all chimed in and we all hashed it out (at least those of us who felt strongly about it) (...) Again, perception, even if (...)   LUGNET members association

I move to form a new organization (not led by myself), that consists of members (if you aren't a member of LUGNET, what's the holdup?) of the LUGNET community. The association would govern the majority of the members needs, desires, problems, (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions) !

  Re: P&P document

(...) Unfortunately, it's an option, albeit one that I don't think anyone likes. There have been many posts recently about lack of trust in the administration of LUGNET, with some justification. But it works both ways. Admins need to be able to (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: I resign from the LPRV committee

(...) You bring up some good and valid points, especially regarding perception of opacity. It's a real issue, and it's something we're trying to improve on. In this specific example (the LPRV committee and process documentation), I do think there's (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  Re: P&P document

Whoa! NDA's !? You're kidding right !? This is just getting bizarre... This is exactly the kind of thing that is souring people. This just feels heavy-handed and dictatorial. No matter the reason, this is a bad idea. It smells rotten to say that (...) (19 years ago, 21-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: I resign from the LPRV committee

(...) First, thank you for your efforts with the LPRV committee, Kevin. Even though you and others felt you could not continue the process, I still believe it's a vital component in getting LUGNET back on track, and I'm hopeful that the review (...)
