Regardless of those other forums being lax, here on LUGNET, people judge you
based on how you conduct yourself. Since this is the internet, one of the few
ways to evaluate that is spelling, grammar, and structure. Them being lax isn't
an excuse to be sloppy here -- the culture of LUGNET is much different and puts
a lot more importance on message composition.
Now, there are some people who aren't that good at it and I see they make an
effort. For someone preparing to go to college, your writing skills have a
*long* way to go. My apologies if that sounds harsh, but it's the straight-up
truth.
People will respond negatively here if you post like this. My corrective post
was rather tame compared with the responses I've seen you get before. I only
intended to wake you up to the thought that there's a good chance your posts
aren't being taken seriously because they indicate you aren't serious.
So, work on the presentation a bit if you want to be more welcomed here by
folks. That starts with writing intelligently.
