This is a great, great compromise!  Kudos!

My only suggestion, other than this is way better than the gray version you
have in the reply, is to align the "read once" paragraph to the edges of the
three tables.  Such as this:

<table>
<tr colspan="3"><td> ...insert read once paragraph...</td></tr>
<tr><td>

  Imbeded table for past hour's news

</td>
<td>

  Imbeded table for past day's news

  </td>
  <td>

  Imbeded table for past weeks news

  </td></tr>
</table>

The two sides of the paragraph will line up with the left border of the past
hour news section and the left border of the past weeks news section.  It
will look a lot nicer!

Otherwise, awesome Todd!

Ok, let's try that.  Howzit now?  I moved the text back up to the top and
also removed the bold title that I'd added yesterday.

Or if you MUST have
it on the side, blowing a column, at least when you resize the page, don't
resize just that column... resize the others instead. They need the space
more than it does.

Thanks. Now I know why I like the old one better, I like the use of the
colors to help the eye tell what is going on in the table. That and the
overall layout just seems better. Change the font to Verdana if you want...
that seems a good change I guess.

Verdana was the main change I wanted to make, but perhaps got a bit carried
away with simplification.  How do you like it now?  It uses #F0F0F0 and
#E0E0E0 for backgrounds and a #B0B0B0 for the box borders.  This feels like
a good compromise.  I made the font bigger (SIZE="-1") again too.

And also, for uniformity, why not make the imbeded tables that hold the post info a fixed size? I know I am just blabbing but this line is really a blab to add more to message. I need 10% of to be original. :-X ~Jeremy! (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.admin.general)
