Re: Page 7 of Spring S@H catalog

(...) This is the same Ultimate LEGO Book that has two different years for "the first LEGO wheels"? Not just two different, conflicting dates in the same book, but on the same page, in two adjacent paragraphs! Argh. Darn marketing/public relations (...)   Re: Page 7 of Spring S@H catalog

(...) Off-topic: Cars are not really dated that way. Automobiles have a model year. October 1st is the new year for cars, which is why the 2000 models came out in October. There are also those 2000 models that come out earlier. The Oldsmobile Aurora (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.admin.database)

Re: Page 7 of Spring S@H catalog

(...) My memory of seeing the first minifig spaceman is a summer memory, and it was before 1979 started. I guess it could have been a warm Texas December though! A kid up the block had got his first Rocket Launcher and mutilated and destroyed it (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.admin.database)

Re: Page 7 of Spring S@H catalog

(...) I noticed that while looking through it the other day, and cringed. (Hey, I'm a proud pedant! :-) Not only did the writer there use the word "kit" instead of "set" or "building set," but the first LEGOLAND Space sets were announced in 1978 -- (...) (...) U.S.) (...) The Ultimate LEGO Book, on page 18, says "1979 First Space Kit." Maybe they date these like cars, you can get the 2001 model in the year 2000, 2000 in 1999, etc. Maybe they call these 1979 models that were released in 1978? Ben (...)   bad link to brickshelf

set 325-2 (fabuland, it's so cute) says it has instructions on brickshelf, but... those instructions are for 325-3. Same for 325-1, no such instructions on brickshelf. Thanks! (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Pause DB

As promised, scans of new polybags are "en route" (plus some other, Todd ) :) 4811 - on the instruction sheet, it says it's set number 4801/4811 - so I guess a pause entry needs to be added with a note saying that it's the same set. (...) I can confirm that I actually had one of these sets in my posession in 1978; I got it in Toronto at a convention my dad was attending. -Cheese (25 years ago, 3-Mar-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.admin.database)

Re: Page 7 of Spring S@H catalog

(...) U.S.) (...) My educated guess is that there were only 4 released in 1978.   Re: The Mystery of the non existent Hospital

(...) Wow, ya-mon, that looks a *lot* like a real set! Even looks like it's got a helicopter landing pad on the roof. Wouldn't it be cool if 626 (a 1978 set) was that helicopter? :-) --Todd (25 years ago, 1-Mar-00, to lugnet.town, lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: town jr. scans

(...) Ya, how about a composite, if it's easy to stick them together and they line up nicely, otherwise two separate ones is fine and I'll figure out something. --Todd (25 years ago, 1-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.database)

  town jr. scans

Well, we finally got our new scanner [1] and wanted to scan some more pics for the pause DB. We came across 6422 - and didn't know what to do.
