Re: Context: LUGNET is not a democracy

(...) I just asked in the admin.suggestions for the ability to prevent or remove highlights for any of my posts. I would have much rather kept this local to admin.general. I think the discussion was important for LUGNET, but not good to subject all (...) (19 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

Link to multiple post authentication page

I would suggest that a link be added from the /admin sidebar (and perhaps from other pages, such as /admin/news, FAQ pages, help pages, etc) to the page that allows users to look up and authenticate any posts that are pending their action: (URL) (...)   Re: I resign from the LPRV committee

D@$#n it! Where is my big stick, WHO is ticking off Kevin! You got to deal with me! Sad Sad Sad, Kevin is the progenetor of many useful technologies, somebody had better show him some respect!   Re: Another resignation: I'm stepping down.

Lenny and Kevin, I've been (intentionally) out of the loop on internal processes for over a year now. But I want you to know that I see your posts, and that this makes me sad. I feel bad that you were hurt by the community's comments. I remember (...) (19 years ago, 18-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: I resign from the LPRV committee

(...) Well, as far as I could tell, the LPRV pretty much just had the privilage to see the document before it went into effect. And, I'm not opposed to that, really. I mean, I fully recognize and support the desire to strengthen a document before (...) (19 years ago, 22-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: I resign from the LPRV committee

I'm sure there are many ways to define this, but what I mean is being so strict about following the minutiae of rules and regulations that enforcement becomes/is perceived as becoming overbearing, personal rather than professional, punitive, (...)   Re: I resign from the LPRV committee

No offense taken, Lenny. My day job for the last seven years has been "administering" an e-commerce web site that encompasses several hundred different organizations and handles anywhere from 5 to 7 billion US dollars in transactions each year.   Re: Request to move .mecha

(...) My two cents here... I'm not an admin and this just my opinion. If I recall correctly, Space gets it's own newsgroup because it is an official subtheme. Mecha is not an official subtheme and unfortunately gets buried in the .Build newsgroup. I (...) (19 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, FTX)

  This is ridiculous

  suggest a "Factory" group

There's already a lot of talk about LEGO Factory, scattered throughout the LUGNET hierarchy. I suggest a new group, probably at the root level (i.e. lugnet.factory). Best, Joe (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, FTX)

Web posting when not logged in

Hi guys, I just found out that Lugnet now allows me to post when I'm not logged in, I assume it grabs my details from a cookie, and then sends a confirmation email, instead of asking for my details as it used to.   Re: Suggest scale modeling newsgroup

(...) I'm guessing it would be in the .build heirarchy. What would you suggest for the name? lugnet.build.scalemodel? As to whether we should have a .build.scalemodel, seems like a good idea to me. -Lenny (19 years ago, 26-Sep-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Suggest scale modeling newsgroup
