Re: Faster-loading pages for super-long threads

(...) Thank you Todd, you have done us all a great service. Several seconds, indeed. My browser took 24 seconds to format that thread tree, and that's on a Pentium 233. I won't even attempt it on my slower machines. - Robert Munafo (25 years ago, 23-Jul-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Please help keep LUGNET clean

I think I've been misquoted a bit, or maybe I wasn't clear on the offense thing, more on that below. At any rate, most importantly, this is a private service, and as such we're all beholden to comply with the rules and procedures here, on pain of (...) (...) New LEGO-related site advertisments should not be posted to lugnet.faq . Within the realm of lugnet.general possibly, lugnet.announce certainly, but not lugnet.faq . Please do not use this newsgroup for this purpose. Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.faq, lugnet.admin.general)

Ever wished there were a Fabuland newsgroup? Got a soft spot for DUPLO Toolo? How about Pirates? Wild West? Castle? All of these (and more) are definitely in the plan -- it's just a matter of giving them names and positions in the larger newsgroup (...)   Bad seller need advice

I recently bought a large lot from a seller on Ebay. The lot was said to include no "imitations" but about 15% are imitations. I contacted the seller and he said deal with it and refuses to refund my money. I have contacted Ebay and sent a U.S.P.S. (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) I think I'm with Larry on this one. While a .sig is certainly traditional, I wouldn't go so far as to call it required by netiquette.
