That's truly bizarre. Even if it were a server-side issue, no server-side
fault or even a client application fault should cause your Internet connection
to drop carrier. You've got something very strange going on in your system.
What happens when you try the same thing from a different browser?

| (...) Well at 56k I don't really want to download another browser to try. A little background here: I normally connect via DSL where I live in Ontario. Currently I am in N.B. at my folks' place. So I am dialing into a local "roamer service" number (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.admin.nntp)
