Re: direct manipulation of bits in RCX registers using NQC

Hey, Thanks for all the helpful responses, everyone. Brian: (...) I guess that "firmware" must be the code that tells RCX how to interpret user instructions (NQC, C, IC, opcodes, or whatever), and convert them to binary machine-specific code. Right? (...)   Re: RCX & RIS, a fading glory?

(...) It doesn't need to be huge! You can easily fit 6 inputs and 6 outputs into a space the size of the current RCX. But don't forget that the pads don't have to be spread out on TOP of the RCX, you could easily place them along the sides, or along (...) (22 years ago, 7-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  A Call for Open Communication

Hello to the Greater Toronto Area and environs... There has been some consternation recently regarding LUGs for the GTA. I can not speak for rtl, but I can speak for OBB, and I can say without a doubt, we have always wanted every theme and skill level represented and included in any public displays we have done.   An idea concerning the new RC trains and a new RCX

Hi, all, I know this might just be a shot in the blue sky, but anyway: Lego is most propably working on a new RCX system. At the Legofan site, there is a discussion about things that should be in a new RCX, and someone mentioned Bluetooth as a (...) (...) Depends. Infrared is very tricky for mobile systems, and a train out of sight (behind houses, in a hunnel) is dead meat in tems of infrared communication... A simple (still reliable!) Bluetooth system should be in the same price range as a (...) (19 years ago, 23-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains)
