Re: So why all the whining about the color changes?

I haven't said much on the issue, but every time I see a new dark "grey" brick my stomach turns because it a) doesn't match my old bricks and b) looks like a blah color to me. It just doesn't look right. Every non-afol person I've told of the change (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) The actual quality isn't as bad as some people seem to think, but there has indeed been juniorization in MEGABLOKS--almost as long as in LEGO sets. Unlike LEGO, MEGABLOKS usually (though not always) offsets the juniorization with generous (...) (21 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: 6 new bulk packs at S@H

(...) Ah, good point. The 1x1, 1x2, and 2x2 are my primary building staples. I rarely use the larger 2xN bricks, so they usually don't end up on my Bricklink wanted list Well ok then fellas - call up LSAH right away and have at 'em! :) Spencer (21 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.general)

Re: So why all the whining about the color changes?

(...) Too True Dave. General Comments/Rants 1. There is another side to the "color doesn't match well with my collection theory" and that is that a) I don't think Lego cares about AFOL's in general or their mounds of bricks to start off with b) I (...) (...) Probably (URL) - I have one too. Funny you should mention a source of blue pieces. By the time 565 and 371 came out, I had a paper route and thus a steady supply of disposable income, so I bought respectively 3 and 4 of each as a source of (...)   So ya want a 'Legend', eh? was Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

(...) Well, it wasn't in the list, but if you want a true 'legend' from the past that shouldn't be too difficult to do, here's my favourite set pre-1979-- (URL) a beautiful set in its simplicity and elagance. I'm sure the tires are adaptable, the (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

(...) I've got to agree--and thanks to Jake and whoever else was involved in making at least this much happen. The point is that at 62 bricks of said color for $5 a bag, that's a *heck* of a lot better pricewise than the old mixed assortment was, (...) Most of the complaints about MEGABLOKS are of the "I don't like the plastic" variety, and in that regard there's not much to (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Objective Gray Analysis

I keep a 2x3 plate in my pocket with in three different 1x2 dark gray plates affixed. This shows the colors better than my camera can. I started a poll with the basic question: "How long before the Lego company beats a shame-faced strategic retreat and returns the old grays and browns permanently to production?"   I'm no longer proud to be an AFOL!

Hi Allen! I've spend 0 Euro for LEGO this year. Normally in the last years I usually spend 1200 Euro a year. And I will continue this, because I don't need nor want discoloured bricks.
