| | The first Lego color change of 1962-70
|
| Well I see that the color change of 2004 has generated some strong emotions... The first color change (of modern Lego starting in 1957) was that of 1962-70. TLG replaced Cellulose Acetate with ABS Plastic, and in doing so the colors red, yellow and (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.color)

| | Minimates JLA found!
|
| Hi All: I just grabbed the Minimates "Batwing" set at KMart, of all places, for $19.99. With just 110 pieces, it's not a great bargain, but I wanted to be the first kid on my block. They also had the "Bat-Glider" set for $9.99, but I didn't pick (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Yes, I've found a new degree of freedom in the BIONICLE series that wasn't present before, but I do still build with basic bricks. I've just never done (...) Looks like braced girders are best done with bricks and plate. (...) I'm afraid that my collection is (...) (20 years ago, 17-Jul-04, to lugnet.technic)

I'm not sure if they will be the "flying" type or the ordinary, "water" types, though :) If you're building the "flying" type, I wouldn't bother building hulls out of (...) | (...) There are advantages to both arrangements, but most of them fall to the original design. A 1:1:1 ratio means it's really easy to get stuff to line up, but it cuts down on a lot of the versatility found in the 5:5:6 ratio used by The LEGO (...)
