  New uses for steering wheels
 
I discovered a couple of uses for steering wheels while working on a current project. The first uses a tap and the wheel part removed from its base. (URL) need to lever the wheel off the base. Its a little snug but it will pop off without damaging (...) (21 years ago, 22-Dec-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.town)

Darrell, I offered my views on this issue, with references. [1] I did not specifically defend the practice and I don't have a final answer either. We were at Legoland CA over the weekend... The main cables ARE made from 2x2 round bricks, and the vertical cables use 1x1 round bricks. Well, I finally printed out the instructions. Seems it's a 44x44 baseplate, with 2 extra studs on each side for the frame. The frame is made of 11 2x4 bricks (I'm assuming it's a new kind of brick?), and 4 2x2 corner bricks. The design is made out (...) (24 years ago, 7-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) IMO, I find bricks (regardless of brand) to be a poor choice for portraying "resilient." Brick models frequently are fragile and some shatter to pieces when dropped.
