Re: WOW ~ #1593 Classic Space ~ WOW!!!...!!!

I love the $1593 original bid, John. You've got class...I'll give you that. Also...way to out-snipe the sniper (not me...the other guy)! :-) --Dave (jot and jab) xxx...xxx (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: WOW ~ #1593 Classic Space ~ WOW!!!...!!!

(...) I myself had partitioned out about $1000 worth of stuff to sell off to make it up to my budget (and my wife), but that would have only gotten me halfway there as it turned out... On the other hand, if I only owned one set, this would have been (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: Wanted: Monorail and parts

(...) I just won a #6347 Town track extension set for about $70 last week, and a #6991 monorail system for $150 about three weeks ago, both from ebay. Last month there were five monorails up for auction all at once, so the value dropped and the (...) (25 years ago, 16-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: wishing upon a star

(...) It's odd timing that you guys are discussing this now. There is an idea in its infant stages right now that I'm trying to develop with my father and wife, both of whom are programmers. The idea is a complete database of every single Lego part, (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.db.inv)

(...) Pardon my inexperience. I am neither a program designer, nor a person with any business logic whatsoever...perhaps I should have footnoted these factss before sticking my idea out here. I think that 90% of the users of a would-be (...) (25 years ago, 26-Aug-99, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

  SPIED! #6998 Hyperspace Flagship! (not)

This is a truly rare set! Only one built! By myself ten years ago when I was in high school! ;-) Sorry about that. I just dug up some old pictures of this crazy-looking spaceship I built out of about 1000 pieces back in 1987 (it's neat to see a (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Picture of Falcon?

(...) It goes beyond money. Considering these are still considered childrens' toys, I wouldn't be surprised if there was another factor: the model's weight. There's probably a weight limit.   Re: What´s a polybag?

A polybag is any set released in a plastic bag, as opposed to a box. Several US-released polybag sets have non-US boxed versions (c.f. 6901/6902, and 6800/6816 are two examples of many).   Re: Color & Classic Space

I've never given any figure "rank" over each other (just my own wussy way of play when I was ten), but rather considered their job in a given Lego set as a clue to what their color might indicate as their "Class".
