  Re: Herring

(...) Probably. OTOH, I realized that if I had been posting on lugnet since it started, in the same frequency I had been posting between Dec. 1999 and mid-July 2000, I'd have more posts than even you do. <gasp> -Shiri (lucky fifth blabbermouth) (24 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Alternate IR Comm Setups

(...) Dustin, I believe that the built-in IR in a laptop uses a different carrier frequency than the 38KHz used by the RCX 1.0. I've seen reports here that the 2.0 RCX can be reconfigured (with some low-level system programming) to use a 76KHz (...) (21 years ago, 12-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Ultrasonic sensor interactions

(...) The device operates at 40kHz, the transmit and receive piezo devices are only resonant at that frequency. Even though the measurement period is short (time from transmit to time to receive) it is necessary to wait quite a while for the sound (...) (18 years ago, 21-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Microphone and Heat Sensors

(...) Interesting sounding project Melissa. The trick is to distinguish the doorbell from other ambient sounds heard picked up by the microphone. One approach might be to use the LM567 PLL Frequency Detector. Its a relatively simple little 8 pin IC (...) (27 years ago, 12-Nov-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: H-Bridge

Hi talking about the H-Bridge.....we are building one here for a 1.5 kW motor with maximal power output of 2.2 kW. This one works with 400V but is also developped for a current of a little more than 10 A (actually 15A). It will be chopped with a (...) (27 years ago, 19-Mar-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IR transmission

Jeff, You are right. Several things could be wrong here. First of all the precision resistor is VERY VERY important. This controls the frequency of the carrier signal. The freq is approx 1/(RC) where R = R4 and C = C6 of the the Handyboard IR Tx (...) (28 years ago, 8-Aug-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: 6.8nF Capacitor

I don't suppose you know what the formula is for calculating the value of the frequency ?. 1/(R4*C6) possibly ?. This equation gives 38396Hz (38.4KHz) which means that my 6.6nF caps give 39560Hz (39.6KHz) which is closer to 40KHz than the 6.8nF (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
