Here's a test post. There are trailing blanks after my last meaningful line. You should eat those, but I don't think you are, as the "webstamp" appears after them. Arbitrary linefeeds within a body should be preserved (as someone might be doing a (...) (26 years ago, 18-Oct-98, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Mike's design is for the older (5114) motor. Since I had a bunch of those that Moz sent me, I never bothered trying to adapt the design to the newer one. Am I seeing things, or is this behaviour what's happening? Suppose I have read some, but not all of the messages in a group.
