Re: which threads, ethics (was: Re: Mini Auction - 6273 - Rock Island Refuge)

(...) Point taken. A standard auction can turn into a dutch auction if market conditions change. Why is that bad? Those calling for "orderly markets" are usually just about to do something stupid like slap price controls or tariffs or unrealistic (...) (26 years ago, 10-Mar-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Carryon vs. checked (Re: WTB: 6557 (really, really badly) and 6861

(...) I never fly on standby unless it's leisure and I don't care when I get there. But I usually do care, so I never fly on standby. If you don't get on, you get NO compensation. That's why it's called "standby" :-) note that when I am traveling (...) (26 years ago, 10-Mar-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) I'm sorry. You weren't listening when I said that any so called "privatization failure" can be explained by analysing and demonstrating why it wasn't really privatization. You proved my point.   Re: which threads, ethics vote

(...) Define "within the thread of another", please. Threads are not owned. Therefore, yes to both questions. Now, the first may be a bit cheekier, but it's certainly better than private emails to the bidders making offers. Which is what you might (...) (...) These should be posted to both places in my opinion. And thank you! Side note... it is interesting that CA S@H replaces stuff with other stuff when a sell out occurs. (26 years ago, 10-Mar-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Theoretically, with perfect yield management, there never would be seats (...) (26 years ago, 10-Mar-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Cool, This is the second Minifig UNHCR ad, at least, to use minifigs. I have seen a poster of another one... all the figs are different. Tagline (very loosely paraphrased) is "spot the refugee?? he's the 3rd row, 4th one over. Nope! he's the 4th (...) (26 years ago, 10-Mar-99, to lugnet.publish)

This is a low structure, fun loving kind of group. I've been hanging with them just about every Thursday for a few weeks now and they're great. Dictionary, Schmictionary. Words mean what I want them to mean. However, if you insist... What was privatized was a food service operation. The customer of that operation was UT. Not you.
