Define "within the thread of another", please. Threads are not owned.

Therefore, yes to both questions. Now, the first may be a bit cheekier,
but it's certainly better than private emails to the bidders making
offers. Which is what you might get if you actually had a rule rather
than an norm on this.

I say, get general acceptance from the group that it's a good norm
rather than holding an election. As someone posted, I feel Todd's
silence on this is quite telling. No rule is necessary and no rule will
be forthcoming, I hope.
