Re: Lego kiosk spotted in PA

(...) Hello all! I work for a Waldenbooks in the Baltimore area, and I helped set up and have since spent a lot of my time working at the LEGO kiosk. Yes, the prices are all marked up (a $50 set becomes $55, etc.), and the worst part is no employee (...) (22 years ago, 1-Oct-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) The word "profit" was Joe's: The total profit that went to BrickJournal Media LLC was about $13,000. This is in addition to the $3,000 that went to AMH Productions for use of the BrickFest name, as determined by an agreement that was signed in (...)   Re: Can we help?

(...) It seems like the definition of what is on-topic for .general is very elastic. If a post shows up in .general which could conceivably show up in a more specific newsgroup, does that mean it's off-topic for general? If so, than the last 25 (...)   Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) I don't think making money from an AFOL event is tantamount to "screwing us hobbyists" - but I also don't think it's right to make money from an event without telling volunteers and attendees what their time, effort, and money is going (...)   Re: SpongeBob license???

(...) I don't WANT new parts. I'd like existing parts in more colors and larger quantities. A Jack Stone-scale SpongeBob figure doesn't open up a lot of building possibilities for me. Or are the SpongeBob or Airbender figs in minifig scale? Don't be (...) (19 years ago, 27-Oct-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Questions about fan involvement with TLC

(...) Interesting questions. The NDA/Ambassador phenomenon does seem to have created an in-group and an out-group among AFOLs, and a certain amount of distrust both between and within them. I feel bad about it, but I can't help but discount the (...) (18 years ago, 10-Apr-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

In lugnet.events, Tommy Armstrong wrote: snip (...) I guess I'm one of those people - not that I complained, I just didn't go because I couldn't afford it. The last BF I went to (in '04), I probably spent around $125 total for registration, (...) (18 years ago, 8-Sep-06, to lugnet.events, lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

  Re: TLG and "Seeding"

(...) I don't want to sound too personally critical, but are you being serious? Sets like King Leo's Castle are more sophisticated than things like King's Castle? Or how about the 1998 Cargo Center compared to the 1984 model? And as for idea books, (...) (24 years ago, 28-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.starwars)
