Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) And they have-- in droves. Themes like Bionicle are attempts to win them back. Guess what? I have not the *slightest* interest in Bionicle, but I'm not going to rail on it. And why should I? It's not intended for me. (...) Hence Bionicle. (...) (23 years ago, 11-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) Video games were popular during the 80s, but not to the level they are now. Todays video games are more realistic are more exciting than they were in the 80s. (...) While I agree to an extent - I'll semi-defend LEGO here. AFOLs don't have all the facts in front of them (as an employee or two have pointed out to me a couple times when I've mentioned price). (...) Let me take a stab at defending the Jack Stone line, and maybe we can get to the real issue at hand. First of all, I don't see or hear anyone ripping on the Duplo line as "juniorized", or "doesn't integrate well" into System. Why not? Because (...)   Question: Does the market realy want junorization?

Lego keeps saying that junorization is what todays video-game kids want but is it really true? What we need is an experiment, to prove once and for all if junorization is what the market wants.
