Re: RCX 1.0 without external power jack?

(...) It looks like there isn't as much output drive protection on the RCX2.0 PCBs, unless the MLX10402CB parts have more internal protection than the ELEX 10402As. Does anyone know of any information available about this? I will say now that I (...) (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: RCX 1.0 without external power jack?

(...) Unfortunately Mike, it's rather confusing - although the *sets* are numbered 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0, the RCXs are all marked 1.0. Only the one that came in the 1.0 set (9719) has a power jack, although you can also still get them from Lego (...) (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: IR tower mains powered

Yes, I have mounted a jack that accepts the plug of a 9V 500mA adapter on the back of one of my IR towers. Then I soldered the wires from the jack to the metal plates that are also the tower battery contacts. It been working great for almost a year (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Need Decision Help - Buy RIS 1.5 now or 2.0 later

(...) Actually, I wouldn't read too much into that. I just received my RIS 1.5 on Friday and it contained and RCX 2.0, but the photos in the manuals and on the box show at least 15 different RCX 1.0's (including 3 with 5 digit serial numbers). I (...)
