I use Nickel Hydride rechargeables in an RCX1.0, at least that's what it
says on the top - it's from a RIS1.5 set and doesn't have the external power
jack. I think presence of a power jack is a more accurate indicator for what
you need to know than the number stamped on the top.
If I remember I'll post my voltage results here next time I put a fresh set
in.
