Re: Question on analog(). Negative voltage

(...) DO NOT SEND NEGATIVE VOLTAGES INTO THE 6811, you will destroy the analog input circuit. Any voltage outside of the 0 to 5 v range is hazardous, unless it is current-limited to a few milliamps. (...) Are you sure about this? On page 49 of my (...) (28 years ago, 5-Jun-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) yes. the polaroid board is pretty sophisticated, really, in that it ramps up the input gain the longer it waits for the ultrasonic reflection pulse. this compensates for the exponential falloff in "volume" as sound disperses on the way out and (...)   HB site and 2.x web browsers

As an interim solution, I have created a site index page -- a single page that points to all pages linked from what are invisible menus if you have a 2.x (...)   Re: NiMH batteries?

They are really convienient in Cel phones since you can use a trickle or 'zap' type charge on them no matter (...) (27 years ago, 16-Jun-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: speed of the board

the other issue that should be mentioned re: changing clock speed is that it messes up the baud rate of the serial communications. if you plan to use interactive C, would have re-assemble the pcode program with a different baud rate constant, to (...) (...) no,this is wrong. The servo output is J2 - 9, not J2 - 15. (...) you need a 5 volt source to power the servo. The Handy Board 5 volt supply can be used, but this will put a lot of stress on the system regulator. It would be better to get a (...) (29 years ago, 30-Mar-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Several possibilities: * sometimes serial port stuff breaks on the fastest machines. do you have a slower computer you can try? * the cable is straight-thru (a modem cable, actually). * did you check that the interface output voltages behaved (...)   beta testers wanted for LEGO MindStorms

Hi all, LEGO is officially looking for beta testers for their new MindStorms product scheduled to ship this fall. The paper referred to is at ftp://cherupakha.med...Martin.pdf My personal advise is that you simply *get started*. hook up your motors and start driving your robot around. see what it can do, how it moves. then connect sensors and gain an intuition (...)   Re: charger

the main reason this doesn't work is the 1a supply produces too high a voltage at the actual current being drawn, resulting too high a charge rate. technically, it will work in NORMAL charge mode, but you'll be charging the battery too fast, (...) The PWR light isn't really an indicator of power. It's actually hooked up to the 6811's serial transmit line, so it's supposed to flash when the 6811 is talking serial. the BATT light should always blink when the board is first switched on.   using Buffalo with the HB

Ronan -- I don't think it's the LCD per se that is causing problems, but rather the fact that the HB runs the 6811 in special mode.
