  back-ordered from DMS/Prabal Dutta?

Hi everyone, I have been receiving word of people having orders 8 to 10 weeks old with Digital Micro Systems/Prabal Dutta that have not been filled. I would like to assess the situation more generally. If you presently have items back-ordered at (...) (27 years ago, 17-Jul-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: 3V motors

Also, something to keep in mind regarding the motor drivers is that "lowering the power" doesn't change the drive voltage. I assume (ok, here's a chink in the argument, if this is wrong, I hope Fred or someone will correct me) that the handyboard (...) (27 years ago, 6-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Corrupted or Invalid Pcode?

James, Thanks for following up. The reason for this behavior should be fairly evident -- there are traces very close to the mounting screw holes. Your metal washers must have shorted them together, affecting wires to the memory. I do mention to use (...) (27 years ago, 11-Jul-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: voice synthesis

Jeff, JDR Microdevices sells the General Insturments CTS256AL2 chip (GI8642CAA) for ** $4.95 **. This is (I think) a slightly newer version of the same chip that Radio Shack used to sell. Hi Fred: The Mini SSC does have a TTL-mode, but it needs inverted data i/o mode. Rather than figuring out how to do that in s/w I just used the MAX232 because it was easy and it made debugging easy into a dumb terminal program on my PC. I've had (...)   RE: Corrupted or Invalid Pcode?

I've discovered the problem. When I mounted the Handyboard, I used metal standoffs. When the board is mounted, it doesn't work. When it isn't, it does. The solution then I guess is to use nylon washers to isolate the Handyboard from the standoffs. (...) (27 years ago, 11-Jul-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
