  Re: A question of remembrance...

(...) Great! So now that your country has the benefits of conquest -- wealth and power -- it is possible for it to show the "kinder and gentler" face of colonialism -- the hypocrisy of the congenial tyrant. I'd just like you to know that other (...) (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Test posting of "Unoffficial Update"

OK, you asked for it, and now you've got it. I've preposted an "Unofficial Update" page at: (URL) There are no links to this page yet, so it's not officially unofficially released. Anyway, take a look, tell me what you think. The good news: I (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Bad Policy #2 (Why all the secrecy, LEGO Direct?)

(...) Here's one way... give the stuff away for free. Instant money loser, very happy customers. (did I hear an internet bubble popping in the background?) Or were you asking a serious question? There are thousands of ways to satisfy customers and (...) (23 years ago, 7-May-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) You're bored? I have to listen to the endless drumbeat of "like it or lump it", "you should feel lucky LEGO sells us anything" talk. (...) A company not satisfying its customers is doing something wrong. (...) This is a great case in point. (...) (23 years ago, 7-May-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Bad Policy #2 (Why all the secrecy, LEGO Direct?)

(...) I think that's a bit of an absolutist portrayal, don't you? The point is that people have been trying to explain *why* it is the way it is, not trying to defend it or say it's necessarily the right way of doing something, given infinite time (...) Hi Dan, I've been following this part of the debate and specifically staying out of it, because I can tell when a cool-headed discussion turns into a hot flame war. Although this isn't a full-fledged flame war, it is certainly not a great debate, (...) (23 years ago, 7-May-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Technic "Ball and Axle" part question.

(...) Thanks T.J. I just assumed the axles were attached. Well, this puts a slight crimp in my “home made” version of these parts, I guess my parts will simply have permanent axles. It won’t be as accurate to the real thing, but it is a lot cheaper (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic)

Hi Kevin, nice work! I like your real black Club Car too. I also have done some similar work, using the parts of three 4559 train sets and several model team vehicles.
