  Re: Space legends, my thoughts...

(...) Why is a re-mold for this one little part such a big deal, considering how many new parts are in every single Galidor set? I know molds are expensive, but if all it took was ONE LOUSY MOLD, is it really a melodrama to do so? (snip) >(I still (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Space legends, my thoughts...

Lets face some facts: 1.we cant get classic space helmets and 2.TLC/LD isnt going to be dumb enough to do classic space with new figs and/or new-type helments (it would look ugly, I tried to put some futuron figs in my Walking Astro Grappeler and it (...) Yep, here's my thoughts: I wouldn't get any of those space sets. Guess I'm just too old. I was lucky enough to be around 10 years old when the first space stuff was introduced. The only space classic I'd buy would be 928. I'd also buy it if they (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) They haven't thrown them away, per se, but worn-out molds are set in the concrete foundations of new Lego factories or other buildings--to prevent anyone from getting their hands on them. This was reported in the Smithsonian article in 1988. (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.dear-lego)

One could speculate, I suppose, that it might have something to do with - an April Fool's prank in which a nonexistent historic set was presented, causing quite a stir among historians... - another April Fool's prank in which an entire line of (...) (...) Agree to that statement, but it is no bigger deal to do a slight modification: just take two 'burnt out' batteries together with 4 fresh batteries. Wrap the two old batteries in aluminium wrap and the trains runs at 4x 1.5V = 6V . Or use only (...) (22 years ago, 1-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)
