Re: How did you come out of your Dark Ages?

(...) An interesting question. I played with LEGO all through my childhood years. Now, with the resources of Lugnet, I can actually identify some of the earliest sets I had as a youngster, and I know that they were released only a couple years after (...)   Re: Colored gears

These are pre-Technic gears. There are actually two types. One with a round hole in the middle which were released in the US/Canada by Samsonite, and a second with an axle hole in the middle that were released in Europe. They are not directly (...) (22 years ago, 15-Oct-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: New parts and color definition

(...) Sorry if maybe I repeat something already said about color 39, but this is how I recall it: In Original LDraw, clear looked better with dithered lightgrey than white, so James and I decided to use color 39 for window "glass", instead of 47, (...)   Perspective of a Burnout -- TEXLUG's Big Train Meeting (Fall 2002)

(Apologies to Erik Schroer, whom I called "Eric" in my last post -Pat). Chuff, Chuff. Two parts to this long puppy. PRE-MEETING: Anyway, around August of 2002 I was fearfully in danger of losing interest in LEGO altogether. An unemployed (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

Discounts on Power Functions at S@H

There appear to be some (undeclared?) volume discounts on Power Functions at shop.lego.com (at least in the US).   Re: Are you obsessed?

(...) Yes, in fact my hazy memory seems to recall that Todd either wrote the original Lego-purity test, or his Fibblesnork survey was based directly on it (I can't remember which). Also, some of Todd's recent Lugnet Polls seemed to be from that same (...) (22 years ago, 15-Oct-02, to lugnet.fun.community)

RCX not listening to IR remote

I just dug all my old Mindstorms RCX gear out of the closet because my 4-year old son is now ready to play with gears and motors and stuff.
