Re: I am the First to Own a Disney set

(...) I had the opportunity to look at the first two sets today at a local Meijer store here in Michigan. The 1st was Mickey’s Fire Engine for $9.99. I believe it contained 28 pieces. Except for the main Mickey figure it really did not invite me to (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jun-00, to lugnet.fabuland)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) snip (...) snip (...) Thank you for the update. Being classified as universal colors really doesn't matter to me. I have no use for the new gray given their inorganic nature and it really wouldn't matter to me if they changed years from now. I (...) (20 years ago, 5-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

  Re: Studless Technic models

(...) Let me just start out by getting a few things out of the way. I'm not unsympathetic to your view. I also build primarily with BIONICLE parts and stud-free beams, so I realize I might not have much credibility with you. One thing that I'd like (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jan-04, to lugnet.technic)

  RE: Lego "pegging" disks

(...) But they DID, way, way back. I still have a set (2 Yellow 3 blue and 2 red) of the old BIG tooth gears. The yellow set is about the size of an 8x8 plate nad has a 5x5 grid of holes. The set has the old white Technic axles and red bushings. (...) (25 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build)

Suggestions required for medium sized sets with lots of grey

Hi All, I'm looking for a list or suggestion of sets which have been released within the past 5 years which are medium sized (say, smaller than ISD or metroliner sized, in the 20$-60$ bracket) Which have decent quantities of preferably old (or new, (...)   Re: How do -you- clean your LEGO parts?

(...) Tooth brush is what I use to be very careful, and an old electric tooth brush. For large amounts I use the dish washer on delicate, cold water, bricks in a girly stuff bag, no drying. I take them out and put them under a fan after laying them (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.parts)

In all seriousness, if LEGO can't offer better prices on bulk parts, then they at least need to do us the courtesy of (...) (23 years ago, 12-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Drachenschlaf: Castle of the Sleeping Dragon

(...) Thanks for your comments, all! I have experimented with using old and new light grey together, and I have to say I just don't like it (yet). I think I'll need to play a bit more with it. I did (by necessity) have to use some faded grey bricks, (...) (19 years ago, 14-Oct-05, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Thank you very much for your nice words...:-) I like "sculpting" like this but actually it is closely related with being a rather old timer (I got my first set in 1976) and having "bricks and plates mostly" type of collection when I started (...)
