These are "armless faceless" minifig bodies, missing their heads. Quite
old (mid 70s??). Gary I. has a bunch which he has (1) used for
architectural accents.

Now before you think I'm brilliant(3) for knowing this, let me reveal
that I just did a few queries of the form:
http://www.lugnet.com/pause/search/?year=19xx (where xx was 77 or
whatever)
till I found the right year.
Hope that helps. The Collins gang recently sold a bunch of these
protofigs as I recall.
1 - what else? :-)
2 - note that the horses are built up from brown/black bricks, and some
of the figs have bricks for legs instead of the special torso. Also note
the "log walls" on the buildings. Designer must not have been to west
Texas, I guess.
3 - I *am* brilliant, make no mistake about that, but it's for knowing
HOW to find the answer, not for knowing the answer.
