  Re: The Coolest Picture

(...) But I didn't modify any bricks to use those LEDs. We just stuck 'em into Technic plates, and they fit great. I've been building with the GMLTC for about 10 years now. Yea, I'm old... JohnG, GMLTC (21 years ago, 12-Dec-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Design wanted: Touch sensor for passing trains

Carl- We designed some that worked very well with the 4561 Railway Express sets that we used for the Orange County Festival of Trees earlier this month. The mechanism uses one of those 5 sided aircraft wing pieces held horizontally flat near the (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Sorry to be replying to such an old thread, but it seems an appropriate way to introduce myself. I'm moving to Ft. Collins in a couple of weeks, and I'll be looking for other ALEs to meet with. I've already pestered a few of you by email, by (...) (19 years ago, 22-Jun-05, to lugnet.loc.us.co, FTX)

  Re: New meaning of "unusual"?

Well, if these were all OLD instructions, it might actually be a good deal. If you buy a lot of used LEGO for reconstitution into sets, getting instructions is very very useful, as most random lots of bricks don't have enough instructions. So I'm (...)   Yet another PAB 2X4 Record: 169 2x4s!

(...) I know this thread died months ago, but we got a store in the Seattle area a few weeks ago and I finally got to try it out. And, of course, this subject is always of interest. I got 169 2x4 bricks into a cup today, using a slightly modified (...) (20 years ago, 6-Aug-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: 2003 Sets (+ others) Found at NYC TRU

(...) It's similar at Times Square. I really enjoyed seeing the new stuff. But can you believe the 4107 tub is $26.99 now? Breezeway Cafe is there. It looks so old-timey in its simplicity. Customers still stare in disbelief at the Lego sculptures: (...) (22 years ago, 14-Dec-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Best way to remove marker pen from Lego?

(...) Interesting... my experiments with removing LEGO printing from slopes, using brasso, an old T-shirt and a lot of elbow grease, completely removed the texture from the sloping brick. Maybe you could use a coarser abrasive on normal bricks, and (...) (23 years ago, 8-Nov-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brainstorms

I don't know too much about electronics and micro-computing but here are my thoughts. For modularity I would use some kind of conector plate like the ones for old motors. This connectors would provide electricity and communication between bricks, (...) (22 years ago, 8-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics)
