20 year old space auction - Going 2

The Going 1 post to rtl duffed up on Friday for some reason, but there has been no activity over the weekend anyway. All items have now moved to Going 2. I have had to bring forward the end of the auction from Friday to Wednesday: *** ALL ITEMS (...) (25 years ago, 2-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: What is with the Technic Stormtrooper?

(...) I completely agree. They are plain ugly and utterly disappointing. And I can't see any mechanical functions other than the stupid launching thing in the hands of trooper. They don't have even the elegance/close resemblance of the same series (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)

  LEGO Pentominoes

This might be old news to some folks, but I thought people might be interested in this webpage (not mine): (URL) diagrams how to make Pentominoes out of LEGO bricks. This, of course, is not a terribly difficult thing to do, but it is nice to see it (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: LDraw History - here's one for the old timers in the group....

(...) I started working on it in June 96, at that time I had my own set of bricks all hardcoded into the program but a few months later (don't ask me when) I asked James if I could use his .DAT files in LeoCAD and converted them to my own format. (...) Over the long term the colors most prone to yellowing (due to sunlight) are blue, gray and white. Of course with all the new Lego colors out, it will be interesting to see which new colors also have this tendency (obviously those that are (...) (19 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.color)

Re: New Train Window Ideas (old and copied)

(...) That's a good idea to use the 1x1 technic beam with a 1.21 techinic pin with stud end. I wonder if connecting with only one stud at either end would give the wall of windows to much freedom to rotate? Probably no problem since the wall of (...) (25 years ago, 27-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) What's this about using bricks to extend the hull? I'm new to Pirate and ship building (actually using the boats for castle). How do you do this, I haven't even see a boat-hull in recently, and the only time I did, I was about seven. How do (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.pirates)

Basic bricks and plates will be easy to come by in the old colors for some time via various places -- the fact that we can't get any of the new non-basic parts is what the problem truly is. For example, I got all (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) I'm looking forward to the old sets, my last taste of LEGO was in the 70's, and all my bricks from that time are long gone.
