Re: What non-LEGO entities are lurking in your LEGO collection?

(...) This operation couldn't have been much success!! There are four stubby ends of plates which were gnawed through by abrasion from below. Perhaps it was a severe cure for glued-on pieces, that went too far. I've got to get some Brasso! (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) Just make sure it isn't in the same condition mine was when I hunted it down in the garage a few weeks ago - to quote my reaction "Tins of Brasso shouldn't go 'clunk' should they?" and my wife's response "Uhhh, no. No, it should be more of a (...) (25 years ago, 9-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

I spent a good bit of the morning pulling out all the hazardous substances from my grandmother-in-laws house to be picked up (and in 40 years they amassed an AMAZING collection of hazardous materials).   UFO clear and gray pieces - Are they useful for emulating architectural features?

When the UFO stuff first came out, I scoffed at them (because I'm more into town than space). However, I decided that I wanted to build a merry-go-round and the circular pieces would make a good top. So, I bought two UFO sets. I never was able to (...) (25 years ago, 8-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Cleaning discolored white bricks

Nope: I would use the drying technique LAST to polish the brick up. You have to scrub it first. I haven't attempted to do the tops (just the sides which are easier and typically the only part that shows - unless you are using a plate). Then, when (...)   Brasso for the European set

Hey Y'all: Does anyone know of a European analogue for the product called Brasso in the United States? I was going to send some to a lego pal in Germany, but Brasso is combustible and therefore illegal to mail. I'd be nowheresville without my (...)   Re: 6198 Sting Ray Stormer 37% off at Amazon

(...) AFAIK (and I've been looking for a while) no set has ever used 14x14 bottoms. From looking at the MF pictures again, it looks like they're 10x10s simply "moved apart" far enough to give the proper outside diameter; this would explain why the (...)
