Nope:
I would use the drying technique LAST to polish the brick up.
You have to scrub it first. I haven't attempted to do the tops (just the
sides which are easier and typically the only part that shows - unless you
are using a plate).
Then, when you are happy with it, put one last coat on and let it dry. Then
rub it off. This gets all the brasso off and leaves a nice shine on the
brick.
