Haven't been any sale flyers for a while. This week both Wal-Mart and Superstore have LEGO pictured in their flyers. All sets are within a few cents of Suggested Retail.   Saw LotR Lego type sets by Playmates in the Lego section
 
Looks like Playmates toys bought the rights to LotR. The one set was 30 bucks and located in with the lego, right under the HP sets. Megablocks have the comic rights. Lego have the film rights. Lego can only produce sets relevant to the films, megablocks can't reference the films only the comics.
