RE: Love the new Music capability with the new firmware!

(...) That IS cool. Now the problem is to figure out if this new feature was implemented using the exisiting ROM or if the entry points have changed. Has anybody tried to run legOS or pbForth on the new RCX 2.0? (Maybe I can use this as an excuse to (...) (...) Hi again, I've got it working now, thanks to help from Jochen Hoenicke and Peter Gammie. I've posted my notes on the process here, if anyone is interested: (URL) now I've got a new problem...   Re: train precision

I do think Steve is on the right track here. The train regulator varies the voltage, but the RCX output can't. So you are left with managing (nominally) 9v pulses. But there is another solution. You could add a DCC decoder to your train motor, and (...) (19 years ago, 29-Dec-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

(...) Yes. hopefully, somebody will believe me at some point ;-). (...) Absolutely. To be fair, Matt has far more processing power than the RCX, extremely well-tested firmware, and a multi-year head start. (...) No, put it's one of the things I like (...) (...) Most functions in NQC are in-line functions, so in a sense they probably *are* in main(). One thing I do is place all my initalization code (as much as possible) into inline functions. That way, when the compilier runs through, it can allocate (...) (19 years ago, 13-Dec-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

(...) Not to my knowledge. (...) Yes. The internal hardware between the 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 bricks is identical with regards to the firmware, so any firmware will work on any RCX. (19 years ago, 29-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, FTX)
