RE: 8450 Mission / Cybermaster expansion

(...) OK, i guess we need to get terminology straight. The ROM is the masked code in the RCX/Scout/Cybermaster. It was "looked at" because I'm pretty sure Kekoa wrote a little dump routine and loaded it into the RCX like replacement firmware - in (...) (25 years ago, 5-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) It means very little. The first time you run Cygwin, it complains about the missing tmp directory. In order to get around this, create a directory 'tmp' from within Cygwin's bash shell using the command: mkdir /tmp This will get rid of that (...)   Getting started; FFT; millisecond timing

Hi everyone, my first posting. First off, heartfelt thanks to Ralph for pbForth. Having recently (Jan 2004) got hold of Mindstorms 2.0 I thought I would lay out the way I found to get up and running with pbForth. It took me a week or two to figure (...)   Re: Why java is (not) bad for Mindstorms

(...) One possibility would be to have a compiler that compiles NXT graphical code into ARM code, or NXT executable into ARM code (kind of like a Java just in time compiler). This would bypass the interpreter of the firmware and potentially give you (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Getting started

(...) Hmm... Which OS are you using? Configuring the terminal window is easy once you know the magic incantation 2400 baud, no parity, 1 stop bit, no handshaking. Ralph forgot to document that so you have to learn it from this or several other posts (...) (24 years ago, 8-May-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

RCX 1.5 kit still ships RCX 1.0 - no hardware changes

Recently I asked LEGO Mindstorms Technical Support if I there was an upgrade kit from 1.0 to 1.5, and they said there was ($25, available Oct 15/99) However, I was still uncertain if there were any physical or hardware changes in the RCX itself.   RE: New pbForth GUI

(...) Great! Maybe I can get another convert over to the dark side... The script uploads should work well too. And definitely try the SAVE-SYSTEM download. You need to load bigsys.srec firmware. I had a perfect opportunity to speak with Brad Justus, Jake McKee and Jeff Ardis at BrickFest on the subject of Spybotics.
