Re: Lego or Biscuit pc/Linux (for path following robot)

(...) Well - if you want to see a 'graphic' of (say) a circle and intend that to tell the robot to go around in a circle, you'll need a camera. The RCX isn't powerful enough to interface to a camera (although some dubious Lego adverts seem to (...) (22 years ago, 6-Mar-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Another firmware replacement for RCX

Hi, my name is Paolo Gai, and I would like to inform you that we just published another firmware replacement for the Lego Mindstorms RCX. The software is written from scratch and distributed under the GPL license, and includes: - support for motors (...) (22 years ago, 26-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: usb to ris 1.x rcx ir how

1. Hardware upgrade to USB IR tower: Dacta is Lego's educational division. For some reason, in the US it is known as Pitsco. The Pitsco link you have found is the only way I know of getting a USB IR tower on its own. It does not need batteries. 2. (...) (22 years ago, 8-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Is there a NQC HowTo out there someplace?

(...) Well there are books called "Teach yourself C in 5 days", 21 days and so on... try amazon books. NQC is not actually a full C compiler, it has been simplified a great deal and if you learn the basics from a book, you'd be ready to go with NQC (...)   Re: brickos 090 problem no program download with CONF_LNP_FAST

Hello Bernhard, (...) I just checked the source code. There is no speed setting for usb tower in the code. If you look into firmdl3 you also find that fast mode is disabled for USB, because it doesn't work. I think the USB tower sends at 2400 baud (...)   Re: Two dimensional arrays in NXC

  Two dimensional arrays in NXC

Hello, I'm trying to use two dimensional arrays in NXC, like this: int onedarray[4]; int twodarray[4][4]; task main() { onedarray[2] = 1; twodarray[2][2] = 1; } I read that the stock firmware doesn't support them, so I got John Hansen's enhanced (...) Im a programmer so language isn't an issue. What's the status of these firmware replacements? I've looked around them some and I like BrickOs but I don't see any functions in there for the IO IR Port on the RCX! Is it just a better bet to stay with (...)
