  Re: why doesn't this work?

(...) Your exactly right, the results are a sequence 1-20, meaning that it takes 20 sensor changes to go from full speed to stop. The rest of the array is zero's as it should be, so the program works perfectly. I'm amazed though that the rotation (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-04, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Help with make in Windows

Luis, Thanks for the info. I do have Win 95 and tried installing there ... same errors. Then, I tried the Windows install using cygwin. I've gotten to the end part where you type "make --unix" While it did compile, there were errors along the way. (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

BrickOS - RCX has problems turning ON

Hi, I have two RCX's (from v1.5 kits) bought about a year apart. The newer one has no problems with BrickOS, the older one will only work using the slow transfer speed and does not turn on easily after the BrickOS firmware is loaded onto it. Usually (...)   RE: RIS version 1.5 coming this fall

Re: RIS 2.0 software now in beta

(...) Ummm..., there's array support in the latest beta version of NQC, but you need to have loaded the RIS2.0 firmware to use it. See NQC 2.2b1 from (URL) . Cheers JP (24 years ago, 4-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics)

DDK - What use are they / lower prices seen

With repect to the RCX, what use are the Droid Developer Kits (DDK) beyond their appearing limited 7 firmware programs ? I do think they are attractive to the younger lego maniacs - so I'm not slamming them. Actually I got one today for my 8 year (...) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I may be wrong - 'my' RCX is actually my brother's, and is 3 hours drive away - but doesn't the remote control with the official firmware do float when buttons released, but brake if forward and reverse are pressed together? Max (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  IR question

Is there a hardware difference between the RCX 1.0 and RCX 2.0 in regards to the IR? Or is the difference eliminated by firmware? Jude (22 years ago, 24-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Can the Run button be reprogrammed?

(...) BrickOS does allow you to configure how the buttons are used. The RUN and Power buttons are read in the BrickOS "firmware", so you'd need to change the kernal, if you want to do other things with them, but it is very possible. So, yes, the run (...)   RE: IR Problems

RCX IR does not require direct line of sight. All sorts of reflections will work. Especially if you're in a "smallish" (bedroom, home office) room. The RCX firmware always has the IR turned off.
