  BricxCC test release

Folks, I've been fiddling around with how BricxCC and NQC talk to the RCX when using the USB tower. It's because of several users experiencing problems when trying to download programs from within BricxCC (using NQC behind the scenes). Depending on (...)   Re: Using generic IR ports for RCX 1.5

(...) IrDA works quite differently from what the RCX is capable of understanding normally under usual firmware. I don't think that you can change the dongle reactions, since on the physical layer it will work according to the IrDA specifications. (...) (16 years ago, 7-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: time sampling under the rcx standard OS

(...) Sorry, I didn't explain. This program only aims at checking the loop frequency capability of the rcx firmware, implementing a PWM. The rotation sensor is only used as a potentiometer knob, allowing me to determine by hand the PWM pulse as (...) (19 years ago, 19-Sep-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Re: Updated list of Service Packs at LA

(...) I second all of that. And I'd also recommend trying to get hold of a RIS 1.0 - especially if you're planning to do a lot of programming. The AC power jack is real handy, and saves heaps on batteries. I still haven't seen anyone say definitely (...) (24 years ago, 21-Feb-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

Some goals, ideas, etc. for a new bytecode interpreter (long)

Forgive me while I think out load here. I'd like some feedback on some goals and ideas I've thought of for a new bytecode interpreter. Any critiques, comments, opinions, recommendations, or additions are welcome: I would hope that the new system (...) (25 years ago, 8-May-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: RCX 2.0 -- ideas.

While talking about separating the battery pack from the RCX it occurred to me that having the thing forget all the firmware whenever you change the batteries is a *pain*. Making the RCX retain this in a semi-permanent or permanent fashion would be (...) (26 years ago, 4-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NQC 2 Request

Dave, Thanks for all the comments in the thread. As I have not looked at the API supplied by the firmware I did not realise that the NQC api was such a close match. Adding the functions as you have suggested is a very neat solution. It is nice to (...) (25 years ago, 16-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

(...) I use it all the time with my RCX 1.0 - with the latest NQC, you really *need* that new firmware. Also, whilst it's still shown as being in Beta test, we know that RCX 2.0 is coming *soon* so we have to guess that the software is pretty much (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)
